Significant Journey products are designed by Kathy Lengyel. Kathy’s journey as an artist has taken many different roads. At the age of 14, she began experimenting with different art mediums and incorporating her sewing skills into her art. Having a passion for the arts, she pursued a degree in Visual Art at Hood College in Frederick, MD.
After graduation she began a career in marketing and advertising as a graphic designer and art director for several different industries. During that time, she developed a unique illustrative style using fabric and thread. With this style, she was recognized nationally by creating over 60 romance novel covers for Berkley Publishing in New York City. The success of this series led to several national corporate advertising and publishing accounts and national advertising awards.
From there she developed a line of patterns and books for the home sewing quilt and embroidery market. She also designed two Signature Series embroidery design packages for Cactus Punch. Kathy’s love for textile as an art is quite evident in her style. Her ability to combine color and design in a fun, contemporary approach appeals to women of all ages.
